Today, this universal thing, which even beginners can do with tailoring, is back in fashion. She will add sophistication to evening wear, and extravagance to everyday dress.
Neither Superman nor Batman ever left home without putting it on their shoulders. She was the favorite outerwear of Miss Marple and actress Lauren Hatton ...
We are talking about a cloak - a classic component of a women's wardrobe, which today again turned out to be among the favorites.
The question may arise: why is this, in fact, simple thing so popular? But just look at the photos below, it immediately becomes clear that no coat and no jacket will give a woman as much grace and elegance as a wrap.
And so it has been for centuries! However, the most pleasant thing in the cape is that it goes to literally every woman, because it has a great many options: this is the classic A-silhouette model up to the middle of the hips, very short and super-long models, wide and narrow, athletic and sophisticated. Wraps can be equipped with hoods, standing or shawl collars, be light or warm. In a word, the choice is colossal!
The fact that the cloak is a practical thing, people realized in ancient times. Something like that they made from animal skins to shelter themselves from the wind and bad weather.Later, the cape protected the riders and pilgrims from the rain and served the people faithfully and for centuries. She gave the kings a majestic appearance, she did not interfere with the knights to freely wield a sword, the ladies covered their huge crinolines under it, because no coat could have done this task.
If we talk about modern history, the cloak experienced another heyday in the 50s. Movie stars Doris Day and Grace Kelly flaunted on screens in caramel color models. The wraps of that time were not too sexy, but they were superbly tailored and very elegant.
In the 60s, the cloak was replaced by a coat, but in the mid-70s she returned to the catwalks in a wide version - in the wake of folklore fashion.
Today, the cloak is again relevant. And this cannot but rejoice, because it can be worn literally with everything - with a skirt, trousers, blouse, turtleneck. She does not harmonize with only two things: wide trousers, because in combination with a wrap they are very fat, and with bags that need to be worn over the shoulder. But these limitations are only to our benefit, because thanks to them, every woman acquires an elegant look. Well, if you often freeze, then this winter gloves up to the elbow will not stop you - they look great with any wrap.
