A simple way to easily get great results.

For this method, it is necessary that the paper on which the pattern is drawn or printed is sufficiently thin: the pattern of stripes on the fabric / material should be visible through it. If the paper is thick or the strips are not too contrasting, it is better to transfer the pattern to tracing paper.

So, we have a dress pattern and a striped jersey for him. It is necessary to cut out the details so that the strips coincide.

How to cut from fabric to cage

You will need:

- tracing paper, pencil and scissors (if you need to translate the pattern from a thicker paper);

- ruler;

- a marker for paper;

- pencil, marker or crayon for fabric;

- ideally, there is also a large mat-substrate, drawn into squares (in its absence, you can do with a square);

- weights;

- scissors for fabric.

Sew knitwear: little tricks and tips

Step 1

On paper patterns of the front, back and sleeves, draw horizontal lines so that they all coincide at one point - the bottom point of the sleeve.

Step 2

Lay out the front pattern on the fabric / material so that the drawn line coincides with the beginning of one of the stripes of the pattern. Secure with weights. Using a ruler, duplicate the stripes of the pattern on the paper pattern and mark the color of each strip. Then we cut out the front part.

Step 3

Lay out the sleeve detail on the material and also draw it into strips. Make sure that the direction and color of the stripes match. Cut out the sleeves.

Step 4

In the same way, cut a back.
